As we reflect on the past year and contemplate the challenges and emotions it brought to the surface for all of us, it has in truth left us uncertain as to how our future will pan out. I often see a correlation in our own experiences with our horses. We strive to gain the best information about our horses to give them the best possible life, yet sometimes the unexpected experience emerges and we are left wondering what to do and what will happen. I guess this leads us more to focus on appreciation even though times can be challenging we sometimes forget to focus on the gratitude of what we already have.
So for this new year I am not just focusing on my wins and achievements, but my gratitude for what I already have in my life. Simple things like watching my horses out of my kitchen window can bring me joy. Horses really are very majestic and remind us all to be present and live in the moment.
